Ebenezer College Virtual Smart School is managed by an Advisory Board of Directors (ABD) and is administered by a teacher certified Virtual Education Administrator. All Virtual Education Facilitators are trained at the Masters Degree Level with Teacher Certification. All Virtual Education Supervisors have attained, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree with Teacher Certification. Virtual Education Assistants are virtual education supervisors in training. ECVSS. The members of the ABD are inclusive of the Virtual Education Administrator, an International Educational Consultant, and an Expert Human Resources Developer. ECVSS has acquired the services of an expert information technology specialist, a graphic design artist and trained distributed learning specialists. Ebenezer currently utilizes MOODLE distance education technology platform.
Ebenezer College Virtual Smart School is committed to preparing students to meet senior high school graduation requirements of selected jurisdictions, including The Bahamas, while providing opportunities for maximum skills training and development in identified leadership areas. Students complete a basic and general academic core and also participate in non-traditional extracurricular studies guided by our Leadership Education And Development Network (LEAD-N) partners. Additionally, students may choose to pursue an additional academic course of study and will be accommodated to the extent to which these opportunities are available.
The focus of the general education core is to promote excellence in English Language, Mathematics, and selected social and natural science subject areas. On completion of our senior high school certificate/diploma programmes, graduates will be prepared to pursue a tertiary level education and/or enter the workforce. Overall, they would have acquired the knowledge and understanding necessary to enhance national pride and to be participants in nation building.
Students must complete three years of full-time study to earn a Junior High School Diploma. An additional three years of full-time course of study or equivalent, must be completed to earn a Senior High School Diploma. Students may also dual enroll to participate in the ECVSS College Preparatory Programme. Students who are excelling at a faster pace and with good academic and leadership outcomes, will be eligible to participate in the SOAR (Student Online Achievement Resources) programme, that allows learners to dual enroll in tertiary level courses for college credits.
Generally, students may earn one of the following certificates or diplomas: (1) General Education High School Diploma; (2) General Education Junior High School Diploma with Specialty Cognate; (3) General Education Senior High School Diploma; (4) General Education High School Diploma – Specialty Cognate; and (5) General Education High School Diploma – College Preparation.
Students must earn a minimum “C” grade in all courses, and an overall minimum grade point average of 2.00. Students must earn a minimum of “B” grade in the core subjects to participate in SOAR and also meet the selected tertiary institution’s entry level standards. The number of credits and selected core subjects are decided in keeping with high school graduation requirements in various jurisdictions.
